The Terry Parker High School Braves posted a big win over district foe Bartram Trail last week, after Parker blocked an extra point that would have forced the game into overtime.

Junior defensive lineman Tavadis Glenn, a starter on defense and offense, blocked the game-tying extra point to give Parker the 21-20 victory.

"I was scared to death about the extra point and was ready for overtime," said Coach Jim Scible. "The snap was good but Tavadis got a hand up and blocked it."

The coach was adamant on what this kind of win means for a football team during the season.

"We live for moments that are this special," he said. "We are proud of them [Parker] and this was a very big win for us, but it is a long season and we are still looking forward to our goals."

In all the excitement, the coach does sit back and reflect on what this means.

"It was definitely a signature win for a school that has never beaten Bartram," he said. "The Bartram coaching staff is one of the best in the state, and they have built a very impressive tradition."

Parker played host to Sandalwood Friday night. Check the Times-Union's sports section for a score.
