HOW DID THE JOB COME UP?

While I was in Tonight's The Night, my agent brought down some agents to see the show. They were going to be casting The Jersey Boys and I met them. They really liked my performance and wanted to see me for the role of Frankie Valli. That's how it all started.

SO YOU THEN AUDITIONED?

It took a bit of a while to come round and then I started auditioning for it while I was in Eurobeat in Edinburgh last year. That was pretty crazy. For my last audition I had to come back from Edinburgh in the middle of the night. I got the night train down and I had an 11am audition to sing that falsetto stuff.

DID YOU GET THE JOB ON THE SPOT?

Don't you believe it! It was intense. I had to get the final OK from (Four Seasons members) Bob Gaudio and Frankie Valli, so they had to fly me over to New York and do a two-hour audition on 42nd Street. …
