PIRATES of the Caribbean star Jonathan Pryce is [pounds sterling]6.5 million richer having sold his seven-bedroom, five-reception room house through Goldschmidt & Howland. THAT dedicated foodie and wine-lover Jonathan Meades has, appropriately, settled in Bordeaux with his third wife, journalist Colette Forder, after declaring that he was tired of living in London.

Meades sold his four-bedroom penthouse near London Bridge, with its wrap-around roof garden, for [pounds sterling]925,000 through Daniel Cobb.

The Salisbury-born TV documentary-maker claims that, after 10 years living near Borough Market, he was driven out by all the "duck confit criminals" and found London so "dysfunctional" he'd become "a near-recluse".

Meades' new pad, a fivebedroom former mill set in 22 acres, cost a bargain [pounds sterling]300,000.
