THIS year's pantomine at the Journal Tyne Theatre will be pulling out all the stops, as the much loved team return in their own inimitable style to present Cinderella - but with a big difference.

The award winning comedians Brendan Healy and Maxie & Mitch, who between them have kept audiences coming back for more over the last 10 years, will be delighting families once again as the duo play Sharon and Tracey, the Ugly Sisters who everyone loves to hate.

The difference is that this year Brendan will be playing their mother - Cinderella's gormless stepmother, making no less than three Dames in one panto!

Brendan, who also directs the show, says: "Every panto season our aim is to bring good clean family fun to the audiences who come to see us year after year. We are firmly entrenched in the values of traditional family pantomime, and this year we're continuing to crank up the comedy with three terrifically over the top Dames.

"Believe me, when you see Maxie & Mitch as the Uglies...well, it just doesn't get any uglier than this! I'm really looking forward to playing Dame this Christmas, as I haven't done it for 20 years, and it's going to be great fun all round."

Cinderella is at the Journal Tyne Theatre, Westgate Road, Newcastle, Friday, December 5 to Saturday, January 3.

Panto stars Clive Webb and Danny Adams will team up with 8ft tall Titan The Amazing Giant Robot at the Theatre Royal.

The swashbuckling 3D adventure Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates is a new pantomime adventure on the high seas.

Joining Clive and Danny in their fight against the evil Caribbean Pirates is their secret weapon.

The Theatre Royal Pantomime is the only place you will see Titan The Amazing Giant Robot in the North East this year.

With thrilling sword fights, hilarious comedy, a shipwreck, a sea monster and a magical 3D seahorse, this action-packed adventure is arguably the hottest ticket in pantoland.

Wallsend-born Michael Harrison, managing director of Qdos pantomimes and writer/producer/director of the Theatre Royal panto says: "Following on from the enormous success of last year's 3D pantomime Aladdin, which played to more than 77,000 people, I'm delighted to announce the return of Clive Webb and Danny Adams who have, once again, proved to be a hit with North East audiences.

"We are also bringing back the amazing 3D effects which made its debut last year and helped make the Theatre Royal pantomime one of the most successful and talked about pantos in the country."

Robinson Crusoe and the Caribbean Pirates appears at the Theatre Royal from Tuesday, 2 December 2 - Saturday, January 17.
