KELL BROOK has vowed to emulate idol Naseem Hamed when he braves the boos to defend his British welterweight title against Kevin McIntyre tonight.

Sheffield youngster Brook has travelled to Glasgow to fight his predecessor as Lonsdale belt-holder in the Scot's back yard.

He won the title after McIntyre was controversially stripped of his crown in June when injury prevented him fighting Brook.

The 22-year-old sees parallels between this fight at Kelvin Hall and Hamed's world title success against Steve Robinson in front of a partisan Cardiff crowd 13 years ago.

"I spoke to Naz - when he boxed Steve Robinson, they were all booing and shouting and he was calm and that was one of his best performances," said Brook, who fell in love with boxing after spending hours as a youngster watching Hamed train at Brendan Ingle's Wincobank Gym.

"I believe the pressure is on Kevin McIntyre in this fight to impress against the crowd.

"I'm just going to be calm and do what I have to do. …
