BRULINES the provider of real time monitoring systems and data management services for the UK leisure sector, has appointed STEWART DARLING to the board with immediate effect as group commercial director.

Stewart has held various engineering management posts in both British Coal and the Ministry of Defence prior to joining Scottish and Newcastle in 1991 where, during the rapid growth of the business, he had several senior commercial roles including sales director and customer service director.

In 2005 he moved to France where he led the turn around and subsequent growth of the Brasseries Kronenbourg On-Trade business.

In 2007 he became group sales development director with responsibility for driving sales growth in Scottish & Newcastle's joint venture as well as developing market businesses in Eastern and Western Europe.

A new recruit at law firm Ward Hadaway is doubly qualified to keep companies on the right side of the law.

JAMES THOMPSON not only has years of experience in dealing with licensing and regulatory bodies, he is also a special constable with Northumbria Police.

James will be representing clients facing a whole range of regulatory investigations and prosecutions in areas such as health and safety, environmental and Trading Standards.

James is also qualified to represent clients in Crown Court and has done so on several occasions, being only one of a small number of solicitors allowed to do so.

The Northumberland-born solicitor joins Ward Had away as a partner in the firm's licensing and regulatory team.
