Kickboxing: Continental Class! Shannon Shows Her Skills to Clinch Title

TEENAGE kickboxer Shannon Flynn delivered a performance of continental class as she captured a top European title.

Shannon secured the EFK - European Federation of Kickboxing - 50kg European Schoolgirl title at a charity event in Dundee.

The 15-year-old took the crown after seeing off Scottish rival, Shaunni Morris, 4-1 on points.

"It was great," Shannon said.

"Especially winning in Scotland and fighting a Scottish girl - I was so pleased.

"It was a very hard fight, Shaunni Morris is a great fighter so I had to totally respect her.

"But as I came third in America in the world championships in November, this is just the icing on the cake for this year."

"It was brilliant," proud mum, Gillian, added. "She was fantastic."

For Shannon, the title is the latest in a long line of accolades.

She was crowned world champion in her discipline after a bout in Benidorm in 2006.

And a year later, she regained the title in the German city of Karlsruhe. …
