Messages of Remembrance; in Association with M the Mall

Article excerpt

NEARLY 3,000 people placed a dedication to their loved ones this year on Teesside Hospice's Tree of Life '08.

Their messages, reproduced here, join the tens of thousands who have swelled Middlesbrough's mighty giving tree that began as a seed of an idea in 1996.

Every Christmas since then the tree has stood proudly in the Mall Middlesbrough, allowing people to remember loved ones by adding their dedications on the tree, and others elsewhere on Teesside.

Although there is no set charge for a dedication, donations are gratefully received and the annual appeal makes a significant contribution towards the pounds 1.9m annual cost of providing specialist palliative care, free of charge in the local community.

In support of Tree of Life '08, the Evening Gazette is proud to publish this special commemorative supplement in celebration of the lives of loved ones who have been remembered.

Teesside Hospice would also like to thank the Evening Gazette and BBC Tees for their support and commitment to Teesside Hospice's Tree of Life '08 appeal.

If you would like to take part in Tree of Life '08, a tree will be situated in The Chapel of Remembrance, Teesside Crematorium, Acklam Road, until the New Year.
