A PAIR of basketball fans who regularly bet on the sport have been accused of a carrying out an internet scam.

The online betting accounts of Dave Forrester, 35, from Gateshead, and Paul Nilsen, 44, from Lemington, in Newcastle, have been frozen amid the accusations.

But the pair have threatened legal action claiming they've been stopped in their tracks after legitimately winning a sports accumulator bet earning them almost pounds 3,000.

Just hours after their big win they were accused if defrauding the 10Bet website by opening a number of accounts in an effort to make multiple bets.

Despite constant e-mails to the site, 10Bet is refusing to pay out. Mr Forrester, a solicitor who lives with his wife Claire, 29, a media manager, has now threatened to take legal action against the company.

The father-of-one said: "Our knowledge is from knowing the league and knowing who plays. All that takes is research and following a team. This wouldn't have happened if we had placed an accumulator on a football game. …
