A Westside man pushed his girlfriend out of a car while driving north across the Fuller Warren Bridge on Interstate 95 last week, police were told.

The girlfriend said she lives with the man and they were having a verbal argument when he punched her several times in the face, threw her purse out of the car and demanded that she open the passenger-side door and jump out. He pushed her out when she opened the door, she said.

The incident occurred between 6 and 7 p.m. Jan. 3.

The girlfriend had a bloody lip, scratches on her neck and abrasions on her hands, the report said.
