WEST Brom captain Jonathan Greening wants to increase the pressure on his former club Middlesbrough this weekend - but is backing Gareth Southgate to eventually become a managerial success with the Teessiders.

Greening has been a big admirer of Southgate since the pair joined Boro in the summer of 2001 from Manchester United and Aston Villa respectively.

But that will not stop Greening from wanting to drag Boro further into the relegation mire as bottom-placed Albion chase a third successive home win in today's Barclays Premier League clash at The Hawthorns.

And victory for Albion would enable them to complete their first ever Premier League double after Jonas Olsson's goal earned them a 1-0 win at the Riverside Stadium earlier in the campaign.

Greening said: "Someone told me the other day we had never done the double over a side in the Premier League and it would certainly be a good time to do it this weekend.

"It's a massive game. We are three points behind them and we need the three points now to drag them down into the bottom three. …
