BIG CHEF TAKES ON LITTLE CHEF 9pm, Channel 4 Little Chef is a truly British phenomenon, a chain of roadside cafes that everybody has heard of but not necessarily patronised. I have never been inside one, having heard too many tales of ineptitude and extraordinary pricing for very ordinary food. Clearly, help was needed, so who better to turn to than Heston Blumenthal and his chemistry set? (Actually, I can think of a few people who might have been better suited to the task, but this is a television programme in search of viewers, for heaven's sake.) However, the exchanges between Heston and Little Chef boss Ian Pegler are amusing enough..
