NATURE'S GREAT EVENTS 9pm, BBC1 If this sounds like some kind of greatest hits programme, then that's exactly what it is -- and none the worse for that. This is the first in a new series that takes a long look at the seasonal aspects of nature.

Do I need to tell you that that it looks ravishingly beautiful? No, I don't. The sight of narwhals -- the Arctic unicorn -- travelling through fissures in a sea of ice, the now familiar but still arresting image of a polar bear witha seal blood on its jowls, the first flight of a guillemot chick, all these are richly rewarding television time. And there's Attenborough: "For polar bears, it's the survival of the fattest."

MINDER 9pm, Five I was so rude about the first episode last week that I thought it only fair to catch the second and see if this remake had got its act together. Whereas the first instalment spent far too much time setting up a relationship we knew about already, this one wisely cuts to the action. …
