TWO former Newcastle stars have been added to the roster for Vipers player-coach Rob Wilson's testimonial night.

Hull Stingrays' Pavel Gomenyuk is heading back to Tyneside for the game on February 25, when he will be joined by Pasi Raitanen, now netminder with the Edinburgh Capitals.

Manchester Phoenix head coach Tony Hand has also confirmed he will be there for his former Sheffield Steelers' teammate's big night.

Hand, a legend of the British game, has scored more than 3,000 points since making his debut for home town team Murrayfield Racers back in 1983.

Gomenyuk returns to Tyneside having previously iced for the Vipers on two previous occasions - the 2005/06 and 2007/08 seasons.

During his first stint in Newcastle, Gomenyuk was a member of the Vipers team that won the Elite League Play-Off title following a 2-1 win against Sheffield in the final.

Former Vipers and Sheffield Scimitars netminder Raitanen has agreed to lace up for the North East All Stars team. …
