Armed Gang Bursts into Dinner Party and Pistol Whip Father

AN armed gang stormed a flat where a family was giving a dinner party and left everyone traumatised by firing a gun and threatening the family's fiveyear-old daughter.

The couple and two friends were waiting for other friends to arrive on Saturday night, and the little girl was about to be taken to bed, when the gang of four or five men forced their way into the f lat in Waldronhyrst, Croydon.

The father was marched into another room and pistol-whipped as the men demanded to know what valuables were in the house. The gun went off but no one was hit.

Detectives believe the gang had intended to break into the house of a drug dealer. Instead they knocked on the door of the professional couple, who are in their thirties, and the father answered it.

He was pushed back into the house and, after being hit over the head, was marched from room to room by the gang in a search for valuables.

At one point his daughter started crying and they threatened to harm her if he did not co-operate. …
