Sorry for Road Rage Attack on Young Mum

HE SAYS he's sorry for his abuse and assault of a Casino woman during a 'horrendous' road rage attack.

Bruce Caldwell is also breathing a little easier this week after his nine-month jail sentence for the offences was suspended.

Caldwell, 43, pleaded guilty to stalking/intimidating causing fear, and assaulting the woman at Casino on August 1, 2008, after alleging her car nearly collided with his Toyota Tarago van.

He then followed the young mother to Elizabeth Park where the offences took place.

Magistrate Jeff Linden called it a 'top of the range' road rage offence.

"I gather this is the norm for this town," he said.

Mr Linden said the facts against Caldwell were horrendous, especially as the victim was a young woman with a child.

His defence lawyer said Caldwell was still getting over his father's death in 2007, was under stress and obviously had some anger issues.

He also said if Caldwell had not braked there would have been a collision with the woman's car. …
