Upcoming AGM Looms as Vital for City Players

NEXT month's annual general meeting of the Ipswich Squash Racquets Association (ISRA) could prove to be the most important in a long time.

In recent weeks I have heard several suggestions as to what can be done to preserve squash in Ipswich.

I hope all players attend this AGM to put forward their ideas as to what they want out of their competition.

Some suggestions have included a day competition on Saturday.

Another has included a doubles competition on Thursday nights, dropping a match off fixture night to limit the effects of possible late nights and different scoring.

There is another way as well, with the Monday night Masters competition played as a four-player team's event.

There is a handicap to even out the competition between the standard of players in their positions.

Maybe the ISRA can consider this as well.

All cards must be on the table on AGM night if squash is to stay alive in Ipswich.
