AFTER recovering from a tendon injury, the Anthony Collins-trained Torida Skippa has his second harness racing start back at Albion Park tonight.

Last Saturday the horse was beaten by 19 metres at Albion Park but the Warwick trainer was happy with the run.

The nine-year-old gelding by Ships Fella was bred by Tom Frost at Anna Bay near Newcastle.

After being bought by Collins in 2007, Torida Skippa won first up last February at Redcliffe when resuming after a six-month spell.

He injured a tendon the next week when lined up for a metropolitan race at Albion Park.

The injury resulted in the horse missing 12 months of harness racing action but Collins never lost faith in the horse from Newcastle.

"His win at Redcliffe last year was something special, he was last at the 400, five wide around the home corner and got there right on the line by a half-head," Collins said.

Already this campaign Torida Skippa has had three trials, including a third at Marburg three weeks ago when coming from last. …
