THE youngest Gold Coast Titans stood tall in their Harold Matthews (under-16) game against St George at Tugun on Saturday.

In only their second competitive hit out, the Titans produced a display of speed and control to demolish the Dragons 38-8

Sadly, the Titans' SG Ball (under-18) side did not enjoy the same good fortune as they succumbed to the Dragons 40-26 in mistake-riddled affair.

For the youngest Titans, mistakes were a thing of the past as they bounced back from an opening round loss to Western Suburbs.

"We started well," coach Aaron Zimmerle said.

"I think we learned from last week's game and controlled the ball a lot more this week.

"For me, the most pleasing thing was that we did the little things well and it came together in all aspects of the game."

The Titans opened the scoring with fullback Jack Sands crossing for a try but a double from Dragons backrower Brad Anderson gave the visitors an 8-6 lead. …
