Walkway Upgrade Makes More Room for a View

MORE of the Sunshine Coast's most spectacular views will become more accessible to the public, with a new pathway and a series of viewing decks to be built along the Moffat Beach headland.

The plan has been unveiled by councillor Tim Dwyer, who said it reflected extensive input from the local community during development of the 2004 Caloundra Coastal Pathway Master Plan.

"This is an excellent project that will bring a lot of benefits to locals and visitors who enjoy this beautiful part of Caloundra," he said.

"Council's concept plan is a reflection of the feedback we've received over the years from our community and we are now welcoming further comment on the plan."

Mr Dwyer said the upgrades proposed as part of the project included replacing an existing 200-metre section of narrow footpath with a continuous 2.5-metre wide concrete shared pathway and the construction of a series of lookout decks nestled between existing trees, together with a timber pergola at Ma and Pa Bendall Park. …
