Kindy pets

THE children in the three-day group at Calliope Kindy have been bringing their pets to meet their friends.

For the children, this has formed a wonderful link with home and reinforced a sense of community and connection with families.

Dogs, puppies, birds, guinea pigs and bearded dragons have all spent time at kindy with the children.

A great highlight last week was when Matthew's Shetland ponies came for a visit and the children enjoyed pony rides around the kindy garden!

Poll stall

THE Union Church will conduct a street stall outside the polling area on Saturday.

Goodies in the way of homemade cakes, jams, biscuits and other articles will be available for the early voters.

Get in early as the stall sells out early.

Morning tea

MARCH 27 is a date to enter in your diary as a must-attend for the Anglican morning tea. In previous years this morning has proved very popular.

Wendy Wootton and her warblers are a joy to listen to and join in if you can.

For $5 you get morning tea a ticket in the lucky door and of course listen to Wendy.

A multi-draw raffle will be conducted with tickets costing just $1.

Campdraft

THE first Calliope campdraft for 50 years will be held on Saturday, March 28 and Sunday, March 29 at the Calliope Race Course Reserve, Racecourse Road in Calliope.

A sausage sizzle on Friday night will start the weekend.

Proceedings will start at 7am on Saturday and 6.30 am on the Sunday.

Local and district riders will be joined by riders who travel the campdraft circuit all over Queensland.

The weekend is fully catered with food and drink.

A bar will operate for the adults with soft drinks at the canteen for the kids. …
