RYAN OUT BUT NOT DOWN; Hughton Praise for Dropped Taylor

RYAN TAYLOR has been praised for his professional attitude since being dropped from Newcastle United's starting line-up at Hull City last weekend.

The Scouse midfielder was at fault against Manchester United a fortnight ago when his clanger let in Dimitar Berbatov to net what proved to be the winner at St James's Park.

Nevertheless, caretaker boss Chris Hughton raised the eyebrows among Toon fans when he overlooked Taylor for the trip to the KC Stadium and went with the not-so-mobile Geremi instead on the right wing.

Yet Hughton says that Taylor's response has been that of a model professional since, and he heaped praise on the player signed from Wigan Athletic last month.

With the ex-Tranmere Rovers youngster hoping he will be recalled against Arsenal on Saturday night, Hughton told the Chronicle today: "Ryan will be very much in consideration again.

"He is part of a squad that is fighting for places. …
