Choi Has Mirrah Ready to Handle Tough Role

WHEN Mirrah Foulkes was a teenager growing up in Queensland, you could find her in the hills picking Chinese cabbages.

"They would pick us up and we would all climb onto the back of the ute after school and we would literally sit there until 9 or 10 at night picking bok choi and pak choi," she said.

This less-than-glamorous occupation was probably perfect preparation for her new job where you can find her in the hills behind Sydney abseiling down a cliff, or standing on the side of a road next to a mangled car.

But some days, if she is lucky, you can find her in an air-conditioned studio reading a script.

As the newest character in the new-format Seven Network series All Saints, Mirrah plays specialist rescue paramedic Jo Mathieson in the newly formed Medical Response Unit.

So far in the series, we have seen Jo winched from a helicopter on to a boat to help rescue an injured sailor and she has saved the life of a patient who leapt from the top of a building. …
