AFTER a spectacular roll in Gladstone at in excess of 240km/hr Dave Creber said he is lucky to be alive.

Creber walked away from the massive crash with 11 cracked ribs and a badly bruised lung.

"So all in all I'm a very lucky man," he said.

Greber said he blacked out after the first roll.

"First thing I remember thinking was this is going to hurt, the second was that my wife was going to kill me," he said.

The 41-year-old drag racer had built his vehicle from the ground up.

It cost him an estimated $70,000 and approximately 1200 man-hours.

"It still a bit hard to go down and look at it," he said.

The car is now a metal clump with the body and chassis written off.

Creber has been racing for 20 years and this is not his first escape, having crashed at over 160km/hr previously. …
