I'M not sure how easy it is to smuggle a hammer and some nails into a movie theatre, but I'm sure being caught with them could raise a lot of suspicions.

Just as well I didn't bring any, because I was ready to basically crucify Disney's Beverly Hills Chihuahua.

And to my utter surprise - it wasn't bad!

All my prejudices towards Beverly Hills Chihuahua lie with its awful, awful trailer.

In 90 seconds, the trailer managed to cock its leg and urinate all over decency in kids films as if it was a fire hydrant.

Opening the film with a dog poo scene and having the line "talk to the paw" in the first five minutes didn't help, but Beverly Hills Chihuahua proved itself to be quite entertaining and it's sure to be a hit with the kids.

The film revolves around Chloe (Drew Barrymore), a chihuahua who, funnily enough, lives in Beverly Hills.

Chloe lives the pampered life and is used to nothing but the finest things - a parody of the spoiled pets owned by celebrities, who don't realise that dogs are happy enough chasing sticks and eating their own vomit. …
