I STUMBLED across a little secret recently.

It really happened by chance. I was wandering the streets of Caloundra looking for a place to eat and happened to glance down an alleyway to discover chairs and tables.

When I see chairs and tables in such a fashion it usually means food, so I wandered down the alleyway to discover a gastronomic delight that locals know as Cafe Med.

Nestled in the alley between Bulcock Street and Minchinton Street next to the ANZ bank, this restaurant manages to be right in the centre of town but away from the hustle and bustle of the main street. It is easy to access and intimate at the same time.

As we glanced through the menu we came across another special little treat, once again by chance. Tucked away in the menu was an A4 piece of paper that solved all our problems. This blessed little piece of paper offered us an entree of delicious garlic bread, a choice of mains and a glass of wine for only $25.
