Dodgers Set Sights on Creating History

DODGERS will have made history even before they step up to the plate for the Toowoomba Softball A1 women's grand final against All Stars today.

The team's pitcher-catcher combination of Rachel Volp, 17, and Shay Worner, 15, is the youngest ever to attempt to win a premiership.

The pair's achievement is representative of the entire Dodgers line-up, which is one of the most youthful teams in the competition.

All Stars, on the other hand, will rely on a host of highly experienced players, including Kellie Ireland, Kristy Taylor and Lindy Masters.

Both teams boast some aggressive power hitters and the game is expected to come down to who can best handle the pressure of grand final day.

It will be a busy day for the Dodgers club, with the A1 men also progressing to the grand final.

They will take on Warriors, who they are yet to beat this season.

Warriors have posted some convincing victories this season and it will be a big challenge for Dodgers to turn their form around and produce an upset win. …
