RUNNING almost five kilometres before he even starts training, 16-year-old boxer Isaiah Lofipo is dedicated beyond his teenage years.

His days resemble the life of a fully grown adult, working full-time at a meat factory, then running from Raceview to Booval for training of an afternoon.

"(I work full-time) to pay for my boxing out of my own pocket," he said.

Having only started boxing in February, Isaiah's short but sweet record stands at three wins and one loss.

Included in that is the Queensland and south-east Queensland titles notched on his belt, with the nationals to come.

Although he dodged a bullet and scored a free ticket to nationals via forfeit at the recent State titles, the Raceview product will still be a major contender in the 66kg welterweight division.

"(My aim) is just to make it quick, just finish quick," he said.

"I'm really looking forward to it.

"It's going to be pretty hard 'cos it's my first year but it'll be good experience for next year. …
