Eight-Wicket Haul Routs Souths Bats

TUCABIA-Copmanhurst White have easily accounted for South Services on the back of an eight-wicket haul from Matt Blanch at JJ Lawrence Field on Saturday.

South Services were playing in a buoyant mood after last week's win as openers Brett Woods (9) and Matt Peterson (23) built a solid platform.

Brandon Honeybrook (13) kept the runs flowing as the home side continued to increase its overall total.

South Services was building momentum when Jason Thompson (0) and Jake Frame (0) quickly lost their wickets.

Ben Burbidge (19) seemed to have anchored the middle order, but South's lower order fell quickly as Matt Blanch tore through the tail as he secured the astonishing figures of 8/25.

South's promising start fell to ruins as its last five wickets fell before the batsmen could reach double figures.

"We didn't have enough partnerships and therefore we didn't get enough runs," said South's captain Tom Kroehnert, who did not play in the game. …
