A WALLOON teenager had the surprise of his life when his car was stolen from the East Ipswich train station last week and then returned on Wednesday.

James Stehr described the week's events as "surreal" and urged people to be cautious when parking cars in public.

"It was about 3.30 when I parked my car at the train station and caught the train to uni for an exam and it was about 9pm when I returned," James said.

He said he had to think twice about where he had parked his car when he got to the station and found his 1985 RB Gemini, which he had spent more than two years restoring, was missing.

"It didn't take me too long to work out it had been stolen after I walked around for about 15 minutes thinking to myself if I had actually parked in there," James said.
