Kids Drive Family Car into Neighbour's House

TWO Bundamba children had a lucky escape after the car they were playing in ploughed into their neighbour's front stairs.

Their mother said the three-year-old girl and her five-year-old brother had accidentally "whacked the car out of gear".

The car then rolled down the driveway, across the empty Lorrikeet Street and through the neighbouring garden about 11am.

The Bundamba woman said the children "didn't get out of the car until it stopped".

"We were getting ready to go out when a neighbour raced over and said 'your car is in my yard'," she said.

"It was just so lucky no one was hurt."

Still in shock, the woman said the crash was "just a blur".

"The other neighbours grabbed the kids so I knew they were fine," she said.

"It is something I have told them not to do and if they do get in the car not to touch anything."

At the time of the accident yesterday, the children were "supposed to be getting ready to go to their grandma's house" with their siblings. …
