Bushrangers finished bottom of the Fraser Coast Cricket A grade competition ladder last season.

The Hervey Bay team is determined that won't be the case this year and are showing their intent early.

Bushrangers, who had won the premiership for the past eight years before last season, have started the new season in style with two outright wins in the two games they have played.

After crushing the Mariners in round one, Bushrangers, who had the bye in the second round, hammered the Coastal Cougars by an innings and 29 runs in round three at Maryborough's Newtown Oval on Saturday.

Bushrangers secured first innings points after scoring 282 in reply to the 190 the Coastal Cougars scored last week.

Clinton Mills (60), Shane Muller (47), Mick Thomas (41), Ben Bamford (37) and Chris Hughes (27) kept the runs flowing.

Batting a second time, the Coastal Cougars were all-out for 63, an innings which lasted just over an hour. …
