THE Jacaranda Maiden heats will be decided at the Grafton Greyhound Racing Club meeting this afternoon.

Every year the Jacaranda Maiden produces several promising youngsters and with seven strong heats this year, no doubt there will be several of the young greyhounds go on to win a major race or two.

Last year's winner, Gazza Shiraz, trained by Terry Jordan, went on to win this year's Casino Cup, numerous races at Albion Park and recently contested the Ipswich Cup.

Finding winners in the seven heats will prove difficult, so the betting with the bookmakers will be the best form guide.

The Georges Tree Services Jacaranda Maiden is well supported with seven graded races, in the Clarence Valley Sheds fourth and Fifth grade the two inside greyhounds - Freaky's Flyer, trained by Gary Peel, and Promises Nothing, trained by Roger Green - appear to have good chances.

Freaky's Flyer is a winner at Lismore in very quick time of 29. …
