THE Jacaranda trees are almost in full bloom and are beginning to carpet our streets, signifying that very soon the celebrations and festivities of our majestic 74th Annual Jacaranda Festival will soon be here. One week to go.

The 2008 queen candidates have started rehearsing for the upcoming Queen Crowning Ceremony on October 25, and are excited about dressing up, dancing and the formalities of the Jacaranda Ball this Saturday evening.

The official Jacaranda Program is available today, free with The Daily Examiner.

After Saturday the programs will be available at most newsagencies and will have a cover price of $3.

Thank you to the team at The Daily Examiner for working with the Jacaranda Festival this year on the new-look publication.

It certainly will be a wonderful Jacaranda keepsake.

Hey, mums and dads, don't forget the Jacaranda Children's Party this weekend at 9am on Saturday Grafton Primary School outdoor undercover area.

It will be a fun filled morning just for the kids.

Come along and join the Jacaranda Queen and Princesses as they dance the hokey pokey and feast on purple cake thanks to Hanks Kitchen.

The team from Grafton Fast Photos will be there to capture this special fun filled morning too.

Jacaranda 2008 wristbands, a fundraiser of the Junior Queen candidates, are now available for just $3 from Wendys in Shoppingworld, Donuts and Dairy in the Coles Mall and Low Pressure Surf in Prince Street. Show you support and proudly wear your very own Jaca wrist band.

The weather of late is sure to suit the annual Junior Jacaranda Pool Party next week, so come along for a sausage sizzle and slide on Thursday October 23 at Grafton Pool.
