19-year-old Brent Cheyne from Capalaba and Joey Mills from Redlands won the Ballina Pairs on Monday in stylish fashion from Dale Jones (Wynnum Manly) and Brendan Egan (Taren Point).

Mills and Cheyne were unbeatable early in the final and lead 16 shots to nil after 9 ends and although the opposition fought back in the latter stages Mills/Cheyne won 22/14 in the finish.

The winners won the semi final against tough opponents in veterans John Lang (Ballina)/Ray Pickard (Avalon) 16/15 to secure a place in the final. The quarterfinals, semi finals and final were all played on Monday and many of the Gold Coast start players did well.
