IT'S good to see at least one day last weekend wasn't too bad to go fishing with a fair few boats out last Saturday morning, although it did get pretty ordinary later on in the day and Sunday was a shocker. Hopefully this weekend will see us get some good conditions to hold our comp in, at the time of writing it's looking like we will have a good chance but she will be a bit windy, with 10 to 15 knots forecast.

Some sad news this week for all members of the Deep Sea Fishing Club, with the sad passing of Paul Hayman late last week.

I know I can speak for all members of the Deep Sea Section that he will be sadly missed, Paul was an active angler, section treasurer, board member and devoted family man. Sympathies are extended to Linda, Drew and Natalie.

Tomorrow is our competition day with species being samsonfish, kingfish, snapper, teraglin, flathead and pearl perch; substitutes, morwong and venus tusk fish. …
