ASSAULT MAN DIES; Police Issue Fresh Appeal as Tributes to Victim Pour In

A MAN has died two days after being assaulted outside a Teesside pub.

The 25-year-old, from Stockton, was left fighting for his life following the incident outside The Normanby pub on Saturday night.

He was taken to James Cook University Hospital in Middlesbrough but died in the early hours of today.

Today police appealed for anyone with information to contact them.

Senior investigating officer Dave Mead, of Redcar and Cleveland CID, said: "Our thoughts are with the victim's family and friends.

"I would urge anyone who was in the area - which would have been busy at that time - and who has not yet spoken to police to come forward."

Police were called to the pub in Normanby at 10.30pm on Saturday.

It is believed the victim suffered serious head injuries.

On Sunday, police confirmed a 24-year-old man had been arrested in connection with the incident and was being questioned.

Yesterday, four more men aged 20, 23, 24 and 25, were also in police custody. …
