FOUR schools battled it out at the Metro Radio Arena to become the Newcastle Hoops4Health champions.

In the first semi-final, Tyneview Primary took on West Walker Primary and ran out out 8-0 winners.

The second semi saw Hilton Primary secure a 6-0 success against Mountfield Primary.

The decider was tight, and ended in a 2-2 tie which necessitated a shoot-out, which was won by Hilton.

In the annual competition's Gateshead finals, also held at the Metro Radio Arena, Front Street Primary, Barley Mow Primary, St Annes Primary and St Oswalds Primary did battle.

St Oswalds faced Barley Mow in the first semi, the Mow using their experience from last year's final to progress.

In the decider they met Front Street, who saw off St Annes.

Despite it being a new experience for them, Street were the victors.

The North Tyneside finals involved Preston Grange Primary,

Whitehouse Primary and Collingwood Primary.

Grange had two teams through to the Arena stage, and they played off against each other in the first of the semi-finals, with Whitehouse versus Collingwood following. …
