CHILLING video footage of the moment Hayley Adamson was hit and killed by a police car was played in court.

PC John Dougal's onboard camera, normally used to capture speeders, was recording every yard of his patrol that fateful night.

The footage continued right up to the moment 16-year-old Hayley was struck at more than 80mph.

And as the tape was replayed on giant courtroom screens, some members of the youngster's family left the courtroom in tears.

Andrew Dallas, prosecuting, had told jurors what they were about to see.

"I should tell you it is possible to glimpse the final moments of the collision just so you are forewarned," he said.

Mr Dallas played the video in two stages.

The first few minutes showed Dougal patrolling at 30mph along quiet West End streets.

The footage continued as the lights of a Renault Megane approached in the distance.

That car triggered Dougal's number plate recognition system and with the onboard camera still rolling, he did a U-turn in a cul-de-sac, hit the accelerator hard, and took off in pursuit along Denton Road. …
