Starfile Coleen Nolan

Image: Down-to-Earth celeb.

Best Known For: Appearing on Loose Women.

Early Life: Born in Blackpool in 1965, the youngest of eight children. Her parents were singers who had moved from their native Ireland to the seaside resort three years earlier. The family were all very musical, and in the early 1970s, her five sisters formed a group, The Nolans.

Career: Coleen made her TV debut alongside her sisters on The Cliff Richard Show in 1974, but didn't officially join the band until her sibling Anne briefly quit 1980 - although she did release a solo single in 1978, singing the praises of Prince Andrew. She continued to perform alongside her sisters throughout the 1980s - they were particularly big in Japan - but left in 1994 to have a baby. Six years later, she joined the panel of daytime series Loose Women, and quickly became one of the show's most popular contributors. She's gone on to work on numerous programmes, including This Morning and The Wright Stuff, has also taken part in Celebrity Fit Club, and hit the headlines this year when she reached the semi-final of the Dancing On Ice. Away from TV, Coleen is a magazine and newspaper columnist and has released fitness DVDs.

Love Life: Married Shane Richie in 1990.

They had two sons, before divorcing in 1999.

She also has a daughter with second husband Ray Fensome, who she married in 2007.

Don't Mention: The controversy that erupted in 2005 when she claimed on Loose Women that if her eldest son did well in his GCSEs, she'd pay for him to visit Amsterdam's red-light district.

Quote: " You have to fight for your own identity in a big family. And as the youngest I think I found that particularly hard."
