THERE were 950 head yarded at Grafton's weekly fat cattle sale held on Tuesday, March 31. A mostly plainer yarding of export cattle this week with only a few good bullocks on offer which sold to a similar rate on last week's sale. The top end of the cows dropped up to 10 cents and plainer types sold firm to 5 cents easier. Bulls and butcher yearlings sold firm, heavy vealers back 10 cents, calves 250kg and lighter sold firm. A dearer sale for bobbys. All usual buyers in attendance.

Highlights include:

* RC Murray sold a pen of Angus x steers 155.6c/kg averaged 590kg returned $918.

* Stephen Dwyer sold a Charbray steer 156.2c/kg weighed 635kg returned $991.

* McPhee Bros sold a pen of Angus steers 153.2c/kg averaged 432kg returned $662.

* Jeanette Newton sold a pen of Brangus heifers 143.2c/kg averaged 410kg & returned $587, Jeanette also sold a pen of Brangus/Brahman x Heifers 135.2c/kg averaged 496kg returned $670.

* GJ & R Gillett sold a Brindle cow 132. …
