MOUNT Morgan State High School held their awards night on Wednesday last week, in the High School's multi-purpose area. Guests and students were welcomed by school captains, Catherine Hoffmann and Ashley Mosedale. Year 8 student, Jonathan Stock opened the celebratory night by singing the National Anthem.

The High School was established in 1912 and acting principal, Peter Lund, is particularly proud of his students, which was quite evident in his speech to parents and students.

Numerous awards were presented by local businesses, clubs and the Stanwell Corporation.

A special encouragement award was presented by the Rockhampton Regional Councillor who represents Mount Morgan, Sandra O'Brien. Her award went to Joshua Mitchell.

PowerPoint presentations depicting the year's events, which included sporting events and a recent concert, brought laughter and approval from students and parents.
