Rocky Only Shells out 96.9c Litre; Oh What a Gas ... Petrol and Diesel Prices Have City Smiling Broadly

IT was "Oh what a fuelling" for Rockhampton motorists as the bowser tipped to the cheapest in Central Queensland yesterday.

According to the Shell website, the city had the cheapest unleaded petrol in Central Queensland at 96.9 cents a litre.

But it wasn't just unleaded petrol selling cheap in the city.

Rockhampton's Sam Weir was impressed when he pulled up at Choice Petroleum on Wandal Road to see that diesel was 119.9c.

It was hard to wipe the smile off the 21-year-old as he filled his vehicle.

"It's saving me about $20 that I can put towards my bills," Sam said.

"It's the least I have paid for diesel in a while," he said.

When The Morning Bulletin conducted a fuel watch along Gladstone Road yesterday at about 1.30pm, the average price of diesel was sitting around the 125.9c mark.

Travelling 25km to Nerimbera for work every day, Sam said it would make the trip a lot cheaper.

"I hope it stays the same or drops," he said with a grin. …
