A NEIGHBOURHOOD feud led Ryan Jones Jennings to brutally kill a seven-month-old baby goat, spearing it and then stabbing it in the heart.

The 26-year-old yesterday pleaded guilty to animal cruelty in Rockhampton Magistrates Court after being caught on April 8 at his Farnborough home.

It all started from a fight with his neighbour on April 7 when Jennings's four-year-old son's dog, Snap, attacked turkeys over the fence.

Jennings's defence lawyer David Eaddy told the court the son had a close relationship with the dog.

The pet was nine-months-old when the neighbour shot it as it was attacking the turkeys next door.

Jennings took matters into his own hands.

Using a speargun, he shot the baby goat and dragged it towards him, stabbing it in the heart and twisting the knife until the goat haemorrhaged.

Mr Eaddy said the goat bleated quickly and died within a minute.

A post-mortem by a vet revealed the goat had multiple incision wounds and fractured ribs. …
