What's in Store for Rocky? Clairvoyant Julie Ware Sees What's Down the Road for Our Region

FASTEN your seatbelts Rockhampton - this year you can expect floods, fancy hotels, frosty forecasts and fluctuating markets.

Zingara clairvoyant and tarot reader Julie Ware looked into her crystal ball this week to predict what is in store for Rockhampton in 2009.

Ms Ware said it would be a wet year and expected more flooding similar to 2008.

She said the water probably wouldn't rise as high as last year but she had fears that flood-prone residents in Rockhampton weren't keeping electrical equipment off the ground.

More apartment buildings are expected to draw plenty of overseas tourism and Ms Ware said she felt Great Keppel Island plans were going to "go ahead".

"Someone is going to sweep it up," she said. "All new."

After a horror year of robberies in 2008, Ms Ware said she thought there would be more in the next 12 months.

"They're getting smarter," she said.

Even though Premier Anna Bligh hasn't set a date for this year's state election, Ms Ware said she could sense the number 24 and tipped Labor to win. …
