Tweedy Undecided but Still the Top Pick to Lead Rockets

BASKETBALL: AFTER tasting national championship glory, Rockhampton Stadium Nightclub Rockets coach Neal Tweedy is hungry for more.

But the championship-winning coach was yesterday no closer to making a final decision on his coaching future for 2009.

"I'd say we'd be able to make a decision in the next few weeks," Tweedy said.

Tweedy piloted the Rockets to this year's ABA national championship - Rockhampton's first Australian title for a sporting team.

The all-conquering Rockets swept all before them in the QABL, capped off by the team's state championship win over Townsville on their home floor at Hegvold Stadium in August.

After disposing of the Sutherland Sharks and Sandringham Sabres in the national finals series, the Rockets landed on the moon after a thrilling grand final win over Hobart in Melbourne.

After 10 seasons in charge of the Rockets program, Tweedy said if he did decide to step aside, there would be no better way to go out. …
