Eight Injured in Car Crash

INITIAL investigations into a Rosedale Road two-car accident, that injured eight people has police cautioning all motorists to be more careful on our roads.

However, Yandaran's rural fire brigade and Bundaberg Hospital are being congratulated for their handling of the incident and preventing it from being any worse.

Queensland rural brigade training and support officer Dion Skinner said the Yandaran crew was doing a controlled burn-off near the crash site when they were directed to the accident.

"They were 15 minutes before any other emergency service," Mr Skinner said.

"They conducted a risk assessment and then helped the kids out of the car and then put the car fire and bush fire out while other (crew members) were administering first aid."

Mr Skinner said other emergency services that attended the crash praised the work of the rural crew.

Just before 5pm on Thursday afternoon a Toyota Corolla and Holden Commodore collided on Rosedale Road, near the Winfield Road intersection at Yandaran. …
