URUNGA Anglers Club hosted a very good Mid North Coast outing on the weekend with four clubs taking part and even though the conditions were poor with rough seas, wind and rain we had 51 competitors have a go with some good catches and results.

Urunga won champion club, beach , rock and estuary. Liam Williams won junior champion in Deep Sea and BR&E. Ian McLauchlan fished well to get prizes for heaviest bream .760kg, flathead .735kg, whiting .480kg and garfish .085kg.

Karl Redmond and Peter Williams won the safety ticket prizes.

It was good to have a great challenge from Greenhouse Tavern, Hat Head and Coffs Harbour Fishing clubs, the Greenhouse Tavern once again doing well with Lucy Weston , Adam Stevens getting female and male champions BRE, Anthony Walker heaviest snapper 3.670kg and heaviest fish of the outing with his snapper and Deep Sea male champion was John Hall. Hat Head Fishing Club won champion club and Bertoli Shield Deep Sea and their sub-junior Kane Burns did very well winning sub-junior champion BRE and D/S also heaviest tailor .310kg and luderick .445kg.

Next MNC outing will be at Hat Head on February 14-15.

Other fish catches from Urunga members were Peter Williams flathead and a 3.855kg fork tail catfish. Liam Williams bream, flathead .635kg and tarwhine.

Shane Young bream, flathead and Aust. bass .870kg. Ian Mclauchlan bream, flathead, whiting, luderick, garfish and mullet. One of our sub- juniors Sam Harry caught bream and flathead .510kg. Richard McCabe bream, whiting , luderick and mullet.

Carl Redmond bream and mullet. Gary Paulsen bream, tarwhine and drummer 2.035kg. Michael Sharkey bream .675kg, flathead and Aust. Bass 1.005kg.

Rob Bofinger bream, flathead and Aust. Bass 1.450kg.

Kevin Habgood bream, mullet and tarwhine. Donald Habgood bream .640kg, flathead, whiting and mullet. Paul Alexander bream, flathead, whiting , mullet, tarwhine and drummer 1.860kg. Barry Taylor flathead and whiting. …
