ANYONE who thought there wasn't a lot to see in Rockhampton should have a chat with Matsuda Yuki.

In just one week, the Japanese visitor had a wild ride across the region, including close encounters with a crocodile, a cannibal snake, a cuddly koala and a pack of Sabres.

The 13-year-old won't forget her visit to the Beef Capital in a hurry.

Ms Matsuda was one of the touring group of students, teachers and council representatives to visit Rockhampton from the region's sister city, Ibusuki.

She spent her time with host family the Butlers at Gracemere, whose daughter Brandy, 13, is a student at The Cathedral College, which was participating in the exchange program.

Ms Matsuda, who left Rockhampton on Saturday, said her favourite experience was holding a crocodile egg as the baby croc hatched at John Lever's Koorana Crocodile Farm.
