AFTER waiting two months for a reply from the Minister for Main Roads, Eric Cordner is not holding his breath.

Mr Cordner, 77, said he wasn't waiting for a response after first sending a letter to Police Minister Judy Spence in January and receiving her reply in February that the letter had been forwarded on to Main Roads Minister Warren Pitt as the issue fell within his responsibilities.

What the Cooran local was writing about is the confusing and dangerous speed signs along Traveston Road in the Cooran and Traveston area.

In his letter he said he was amazed that no serious accident had occurred during times when highway traffic was diverted through Cooran and said it was only a matter of time as he continually saw the speed limit being ignored.

Mr Cordner wants the 100kmh speed sign near Riley's Road replaced with 90kmh or even 80kmh because the road is narrow and winding as traffic in the opposite direction is restricted to 90kmh. …
